While escorting my wife to a nursing conference in New Orleans mid-April 2010 I took a ride the first day out of town on Hwy-90 to Hwy-23(Lafayette St.) for about 20-25 miles till I ran across
Myrtle Grove Marina.
When I went inside and asked about a good guide for a fishing trip, Capt. Dave Marino's name was quickly given by two employees. They told me that if I wanted the best guide that caught fish and a great guy that he was the one. I collected the information on Capt Dave and called him that evening. After talking to six guides to include him, there was no doubt that I had the right guide for the Job.
He quickly assured me that all of his equipment was in good shape & his top priority was my safety and we WOULD catch fish. Being an avid fisherman myself, Capt. Dave checked all the blocks of any questions I had and we closed the deal with a 6am take off the next two mornings. At 5:50 the next morning when I pulled up Capt Dave was waiting with boat in the water and ready to go. For the next two days not only did I catch fish (50+ Trout & 20+ Reds from 7-15lbs) I made a new Friend. As a retired 1SG of the U.S. Army I have met many a fine young man,
Capt Dave rates with the best. His professionalism, attitude and values set him above the guides I have met in the past. If and when I or any of my friends return to New Orleans he will be at the top of list to contact and to go on another great fishing trip.
Thanks Capt Dave for a great two days of fishing.
